Burton-Hill Found Not Guilty in Kavairlook Murder Trial
Attorney Spaulding defended the man charged with the murder of Kavairlook. Two other people in getaway car took deals and plead guilty, despite the fact that they did not shoot anyone. Ultimately, Attorney Spaulding's client was acquitted self-defense, but the other two men involved were still sentenced in keeping with their pleas.
"Burton-Hill’s attorney didn’t dispute that his client killed Kavairlook but claimed he did so because he thought Kavairlook was armed and was going to hurt him and his friends."
Driver In Gas Station Robbery Gets Probation
Attorney Spaulding represented a woman who was involved in a gas station robbery. He argued that his client did not know she was going to be involved in the crime until it was too late. His client received three years probation for pleading guilty to a single count of second-degree felony theft.
"Her attorney, Frank Spaulding, said Tuesday that Emry didn’t know beforehand she was going to be a getaway driver and described her as the “least culpable” of the four defendants. “Ms. Emry didn’t realize this was going to be occurring until it was already too late. By that time she was in the vehicle with armed people that she didn’t really have the opportunity to dispute with,” he said."
